Marnhull Men’s Shed was founded in March 2018 following a village meeting attended by more than
40 potential “shedders”. Patrick Abrahams from the Frome Shed explained the concept of a “Men’s Shed” and
some of the projects they had undertaken. This received an enthusiastic response; a decision was made to go
ahead to form our own shed and volunteers came forward to form a steering committee.
Our biggest problem was finding suitable premises, and we were very grateful to be
offered accomodation at King’s Mill Court on the outskirts of the village.
We joined the UK Men’s Shed Association and secured funding from Dorset POPP,
Healthwatch Dorset and the ASDA/RVS Sheds Foundation.
